Adult Intermediate Basketball League
League Rules

Thank you for registering in the Adult Intermediate Basketball League at the Clarkson Community Centre! Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Program Staff directly, or call the Community Centre at 905-615-4840.

For the enjoyment of all participants, games in the Adult Intermediate Basketball League will use the following rules and guidelines:

League Rules:
1. All teams will play one 40-minute game per week.
2. Final weeks will be used for Championship and Consolation Playoffs.
3. All games will be officiated by City of Mississauga Program Staff. Abuse of officials will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and may result in your removal from the program. Players receiving 2 technical fouls over the course of the season will receive an automatic one game suspension. 3 or more technical fouls during the session will result in removal from program or multiple game suspension. Multiple game suspensions received at the end of one program session will carry forward to the next program session.
4. All participants are entitled to receive equal court time, regardless of playing ability. Referee will enforce if necessary.
5. Fighting will not be tolerated, and will result in your immediate removal from the league and possible banning from future program sessions (as per City of Mississauga's Violence and Vandalism Policy)
6. Program staff reserve the right to remove non-playing spectators from the Gymnasium at any time.
7. Non-marking running shoes only.
8. No glasses (sports goggles permitted) or jewellery of any kind.
9. Players are asked to leave the Gymnasium immediately after the last game.
10. Change room facilities are available for all participants, however all participants must have vacated the Community Centre prior to Midnight.
11. Teams may start a game with 3 players. Less than 4 players by half-time will result in a default loss.

Game Rules:
1. Games will consist of two 20-minute running time halves. Last minute of Second Half will be stop time (clock will stop after a basket) only if teams are within 6 points of each other entering final minute.
2. If game is tied after regulation, teams will alternate free throws (different shooter each time) until one team makes and the other team misses.
3. Teams will be considered in the BONUS after 5 fouls per half and DOUBLE BONUS after 7 fouls.
4. Teams may substitute at stoppages in play only.
5. FIBA rules will be used in all other instances.
6. Players will Foul Out@ after their 6th Personal Foul
7. Referee has final decision in all matters.
