In 2010, Customer Service Week occurs between October 4th and 8th and will be celebrated by your MSDO 2010 Conference hosts: Town of Caledon, City of Brampton, City of Mississauga and Region of Peel.
Customer Service Week is devoted to recognizing the importance of customer service, while honouring those who serve and support customers with the highest degree of care and professionalism.
The event raises awareness about the vital role customer service plays within organisations. Celebrations are held across the world in businesses big and small as weeklong events and activities acknowledge staff’s commitment to customer service and help foster motivation and team building. Employees are recognised and clients thanked for their continued partnership.
In 1988, the International Customer Service Association initially proclaimed a customer service week, and in 1992 U.S. Congress announced it would be a nationally recognized annual event during the first week of October. Customer Service Week has since blossomed into an international celebration, with countries like Great Britain, United Arab Emirates, Ireland and Australia joining Canada and the United States in participating.
