The Millcroft Inn, a 100 acre estate is a definitive Ontario historic country inn with a blend of rural serenity and sophisticated hospitality. Nestled in the rolling countryside of the Town of Caledon and Southern Ontario's Hills of Headwaters, it is a region which is rich with cultural, artistic and rural activities.
Originally the mill was built by Benjamin Ward in 1881 as a knitting mill, knitting harnessing power from the adjacent Shaw’s Creek. The mill continued to run until 1965, when the mill ceased production and the contents of the building were sold. The original stone building was turned into the Millcroft Inn and has been key to the local area for employment and tourism.
Combine award-winning cuisine, the quiet, welcoming ambiance of the Millcroft’s dining room overlooking the Mill Pond and shimmering Shaw's Creek Falls, with fun loving municipal service delivery officials, and you have a recipe for a truly extraordinary feast that features local ingredients for the Tuesday October 5, 2010 evening gala reception and dinner.

Port Credit, Mississauga, is found at the mouth of the Credit River on the north shore of Lake Ontario. The name "Port Credit" came from its roots as a trading post where goods were traded or bought on credit. The heart of Port Credit is its harbour at the mouth of the Credit River.
Once a working fishing port and a regional trading centre for grain and other agricultural products, the Port Credit Harbour has seen many roles in the Mississauga community. A lighthouse was built in 1882 to serve the sailors on Lake Ontario. It served until 1918 and remained standing until destroyed by fire in 1936.
Today the harbour has been redeveloped into a marina on the east bank, and a charter fishing centre and public boat launch facility on the west bank, under the new replicated lighthouse, which is the tourist and recreation centre. Port Credit Harbour Marina is the largest public marina in Peel region.
The area hosts many activities and events from June through to September including the famous Southside Shuffle, founded by Chuck Jackson, Port Credit native and long time lead singer of the Downchild Blues Band. Port Credit is commonly referred to as the “Village on the Lake” and has many stores, pubs and restaurants lining Lakeshore Road.
