WE BRING ART TO THE COMMUNITY, AND COMMUNITY TO ART

• Not-for-profit art gallery
• Located on the Ground Floor of the Civic Centre, just    across Square One and the Living Arts Centre
• Free admission and underground parking
• Wheelchair accessible
• Opened in 1987, concurrent with the opening of the    Mississauga Civic Centre

EXHIBITIONS
• Ten to twelve exhibits per year
• New exhibits approximately every six weeks
• Primarily contemporary Canadian art
   o Features all media (painting, photographs,       sculpture, multimedia installation, etc)
   o Includes artists from Mississauga, Southern Ontario,       Canada and around the world

COLLECTING
• Permanent art collection of over 500 works
• AGM began collecting in 1994 and was    designated as a category "A" institution by the    Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board    in 1995 • Most of the works have been produced    since 1945 by significant local and national    artists • Currently, exhibitions are drawn from the    Collection to show on an annual basis

DIMENSIONS
• 3,700 square feet
• 4 rooms
• 15 foot high ceilings

AUDIENCE
• Convenient location in Mississauga's downtown    core, close to the airport and in a very culturally    diverse city
• Visitors from all over the world, including North    America, Europe, and Asia
• In 2010 alone, visitors and student groups come    from Florida, Spain, Colombia and South Asia
• Over the past five years, more than 78,000 visitors    have viewed 60 exhibits
• AGM community events: majority of attendees    from Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area
