Shafik Benjamin is a graduate of The American University in Cairo. He worked in advertising and promotion in Montreal before focusing on screenplay writing in 1978. His widely diverse plays include Isis and Osiris, Fury In The Jungle and The Rape Of Afrika Shonara (2nd prize winner of The African Film Commission 2005). He published his first novel Kismet In The Sand in 2009.
